Triple Swims

For the first time in about a month, I actually felt cold! The blue skies have begun to develop into thunderstorms, but as the first rains began to fall, we went up to the river to clear our heads in the 'swimming pool'.

Clare led the charge and I soon followed into the very cool river water. The heavy drops of rain were splashing of the un-rippled surface as we swam lengths in the solitude of the mountain valley. By the time we got out I was properly shivering - the sensation felt very strange after so much hot weather!

After a lovely evening at The Cottage - our first together for weeks, we went out to the lake in search of a warmer morning swim venue. As predicted, the water was much warmer than the river.

Once we'd worked up an appetite, and not chilled down quite as much, we called into the Cabin for a spot of brunch..

Before getting stuck into some summer trip planning back at The Cottage. Maps, guidebooks, articles and ideas were sifted though in search of our next adventures...

By late afternoon, we'd had plenty of ideas, but not definite plans and were in need of a refresh - our third swim in 24 hours beckoned! This time in the undisputed warmest lake around here...

There was not even a tingle of cold as we swam together towards the Snowdon vista. Absolutely beautiful!... Lovely to be able to make the most of the good temperatures - and with a drink in the bar afterwards as well to top off a super 'holiday at home' kind of a day.
