Although it's been a bit chilly, I was keen to get up into the mountains for a 'not too strenuous' bit of climbing. John and I met at 10 and were soon setting off up Idwal Slabs and the continuation walls.
I was still a bit zonked from yesterday, and as John had done a 10km run the day before, rather than move fast, we moved efficiently up the rock - which of course made our ascent quite fast! We were on top by 13:00 and wondering whether to continue onwards towards higher crags. Although I'd have liked to, my body was telling me to save it for another day and don't over do it! For once, I listened and we returned to The Cottage, for a very nice coffee in the sun!
Here's our line of ascent linking these routes...
- Tennis Shoe Direct Start, E1, (5a)**
- Tennis Shoe, HS (4b)***
- Wall Variations, VS (5a)**
- Continuation Crack, HVS, 5a**
