3.55 alarm call this morning! Too early!! But at least we had somewhere good to go! Up Cader Idris in mid-wales with some students.
A beautiful but crazy hot morning! Was 18 degrees at 4am and kept rising as the sun came up.
It's always brilliant to be up in the mountains so early in the morning. All was peaceful and there was no one around. Very little wind either: t-shirts from the outset!
Made the summit in good time despite the super sweaty ascent conditions.
We could see right out to the Lleyn, across to Barmouth Sands and right down to Pembrokeshire! Stunning!
Later on, after climbing Tryfan, I dropped the team at Pen y Pass where they set off up Snowdon. The temperature was now 29degress!
Having dropped the team off, I had a couple of hours free, so went and had a swim in the lake at Llanberis! My first dip of the year and it was total bliss! Clare came and joined me and we met some other friends swimming out in the middle of the Lake! Great stuff!
