Castle Inn Quarry Climbs

More blue sky weather has kept the temperature cold in the mountains, but very nice on the outlying cliffs nearer the coast. We went to Castle Inn Quarry to see what the condition the climbs were in after not being here over the winter, since the crag was closed due to a rockfall.

The main cliff is mostly unaffected, but the left had routes (the area above Clare in the first photo), still has some loose material and is probably best avoided if working with less experienced climbers). There was no one else about and the noise of the birds and sheep were all we could here. All rather tranquil really and with a walk in time of less that ten seconds, it served us very well.

Castle Inn Quarry Climbs:
- Route 1, 5**
- Route 2, 6a (polished and hard!)
- Finale, 5 (beware of loose rock above!)
