Cneifion Arete

We made the most of an afternoon of blue sky, with a quick jaunt up our local valley.

With lightweight packs, we hiked up above Cwm Idwal to the sunny Cwm Cneifion.

Using our alpine skills, we pitched the first steep section and then moved together along the knife-edge gendarmes and flakes that make up the crest of the route.

Was great to be moving together on good terrain.

We bumped into our friend John at the top, who had been climbing on the slabs. There were no Ibex, but plenty of goats.

The rainwater of the previous few days has now receeded, but we went to have a quick look at the Ogwen Falls before heading back home.

Back at base, we tried to prolong the summer vibe, with some al fresco dining, but no sooner was the chiminea lit, raindrops started falling again!
