Surf and Cycle

What a difference a day makes! The temperature has shot up and overnight rain hsa melted a lot of the snow. Ditching plans for more winter climbing, we packed up the van and drove over to the Island, where it was a spring-like 14 degrees and blue sky

We drove to a few spots to check the waves, before decided on where to get in.

The warmth of the sun was fantastic, even if the water was still a bit cold. There was just us and three friends in the water and plenty of big waves. Afterward, we brewed hot drinks in the sun out of the back of the van and chatted like on a summers day.

A short drive down the coast and we set off on part two of our mini holiday and cycled down to Malltreath, along lanes that we've never been on.

Snowdrops were everywhere..

As well as other signs of Spring. We have some crocus and one daffodil out at The Cottage, but here on the Island, things are well ahead.

We've been lent an eBike, which is amazing! We loaded up a flask and a picnic to enjoy at The Cob, before cycling back. When it got a bit tiring, I just flicked the switch and the motor kept me moving! So good!

Got back to the van with very little effort on my part, just before dark. A brilliant little expedition!
