More hiking today, but this time out on the coast of Anglesey at Penmon. It's a beautiful part of the Island (the South East tip) and today provided some dry weather and some welcome shelter from the cold Northerly winds. The mountains looked fantastic from across the Menai Straits.
With the tide on its way out, we decided to stay on the beach and follow it around towards Puffin Island. It's a really active section of coast line and we saw numerous landslips and rocks that had been recently hit hard by the sea. The colours of the different layers of rocks were particularly striking.
We even found a mini limestone sea arch!
Round at Penmon Point we could look across at Puffin Island and right across to the Great Orme at Llandudno.
As we arrived there a rainbow appeared in the distance. We then made our way back along the road, past the old abbey and dovecote, making it a nice little loop.
