Moel y Ci - a day of rest

A day of rest was required today! There was fresh snow in the mountains, but even the view of frosty blue skies couldn't pull me from the warmth of the duvet this morning. A leisurely brunch, followed by fresh coffee by the fireside was exactly the sort of Saturday morning I was looking for! It was looking good outside though, so we decided to make the most of the sunshine by taking a stroll around and over our local peak - Moel y Ci.

Cold in The Cottage driveway!

Moel y Ci, although modest in height, has probably one of the best panoramas in all of North Wales. From the summit you can see all of the major mountains of Snowdonia, all of Anglesey, down to the Lleyn in the west and across to the Great Orme in the east. And it takes all of about 30minutes to ascend! The mountains looked great with their fresh winter coat, but today we were happy to view from afar and just soak up the sights and suck in the cold air. What a place...
