Intro to Orienteering

Gales and rain across Snowdonia today! Had a fab introduction session to orienteering this morning. We made use of the warmth and shelter of a classroom before heading out into the wilds. It's always better to create the right environment for learning, rather than trying to force the point in the pouring rain!

Maps, maps, maps... Starting in the warmth!
Once we'd grasped the basics, we headed out into the woods at Glyllifon County Park and despite the dismal conditions, had a great orienteering session and a lot of laughs along the way. The afternoon flew by, that I barely noticed the wet (which was lucky really as I'd forgotten to take my boots and had to dodge the puddles in my trainers!).

Noting the details... getting your eye in...
