One of my student groups have been working towards achieveing their John Muir Award over the past few months. They have had to discover, explore and conserve a wild area and today was the final day in our chosen woodland. We started off with a hike above the Conwy valley, to test our map work, before dropping down to the actual woods where we've been based.
As it was the last session, I'd promised the team we'd have a decent lunch.
I provided the goods and they set about making them edible! They did a fine job and also catered for Julia and Alistair (whose woods we were in), and the vicar of Shrewsbury, who happened to be visiting!
After a fine feed, the students were set to work one final time. For safety reasons, Alistair was manning the chainsaws, but we helped out with the axe work in the log gym! A lovely finish to a great project.
