Cnicht Horseshoe Hike

A short drive south for a change of scene today and a stretch of the legs. Despite the promise of blue skies and light winds, it was a bit cloudy and misty up on the top of Cnicht. Neither of us had been up the mountain from the west side, so although we'd been to the top a few times before, it felt like a new day of explorations. The map on my phone was refusing to load when we arrived at the car park, so it was lucky that someone had left theirs behind on a wall!

Up on the summit, we got a few fleeting views out to sea and then further inland but they were all much cloudier than expected! So not as many amazing panorama photos as I'd hoped for.

The walk down, past Llyn yr Adar was really boggy and wet, without much of a defined path, but our boots kept our socks dry. We passed a lot of frogs spawn on the way down and luckily made it to the car before the rain started in earnest!

The forecast chance of a 'couple of drops' was a little off - it poured down all the way home! Nice to have been to a new area and had a mini-holiday though...
