It's been a very long time since we walked the cliff tops of Morfa Nefyn on the Lleyn Peninsula and today was the perfect day for a reacquaintance. With strong winds and snow still forecast in the mountains, we chose to have one more day 'out west' in the warmer weather.
The famous pub on the beach was closed (along with pretty much everything else), but that did at least mean that once again, we had the place to ourselves as we hike out along the cliffs to the lookout point.
On oneside, the wind was blowing and waves were crashing up on the rocky shore, but on the sheltered side, there was not a breath of wind and the water in the bay was clear and calm. We took an extended break to sit down and watch the seals swimming about below us. It was 14 degrees and a very pleasant place to hang out.
After walking back along the shore now that the tide had gone out, we eventually decided that we probably ought to start making our way back home.
We stopped again, briefly at Trevor Beach, but it wasn't as sheltered, so we didn't hang around long.
Arriving back at The Cottage, felt familiar in the way of previous trips - post stacked up, grass long, plants needing a water and all that sort of stuff. It was a nice welcome back, although the temperature inside The Cottage was actually colder than outside! We got the fire going straight away. We'd set off 11 days ago on a four day mini break!!
