After a massive rise in temperatures and 30mm rain passing over North Wales, this morning the skies cleared to reveal a different view. The slopes that we'd skied had been all but stripped of snow. However, on the plus side, the sunshine felt like spring and the air clarity was superb. The air was crystal clear and the 'stripy' patterns that were left on the mountains looked fresh and arty.
Late in the afternoon, we just had enough time and daylight to go up the hill on bikes to check the view. Although it looks like the skkiing days are over, some friends did manage to get a good run in, between the heather, and just reported that the snow was good and firm for skiing on.
I was plenty warm enough on the ride up the hill, but the windchill on the way back down was eye watering. Good job that the fire at The Cottage was already on and we had a warm welcome when we got back in.
