The rain has stopped and only just below the rim of the rain gauge!
The mountains are still shrouded in clouds, but the glimpses that I got show that there's a lot of fresh snow up there. On the sodden ground also looks like there have been a few landslides too.
Clare noticed a weather window of opportunity in the afternoon, so we rode as fast as we could, down to the old house by the Straits, where we spent an invigorating half an hour basking in the sunshine.
It really felt like a life-giving tonic after a very wet couple of days!
We didn't have much time, so found a sheltered spot and soaked up the Vitamin D, while we could.
