River Spotting

In the few days since we've been home, over 100mm of rain has fallen in the garden rain gauge. The ground is sodden and the river all full. It was a shame not to be able to capitalise on the river flow in a kayak, but we decided that under the current regulations, it was hardly 'essential travel' even though it's a sort of exercise! The Ogwen was at a perfect paddling level.

Further up the hill, the reservoir was looking pretty full and with an impressive overspill.

For the first time, further uphill in the woods, the Marchyln looked paddleable too. Well, sections of it at least...

The middle section looked just right, but above and below it remains choked with fallen trees and boulders.

It's been a grey few days, so not being able to go anywhere further than walking distance was actually less of a bother. However, it'll be nice to see the sun again. Yesterday the summit of Snowdon had it's first dusting of snow....
