Hidden Scenes - Another New View

Cooler, windier and wanting to use some different muscles, meant that we set out on foot for some more local explorations. We had a rough idea of where we would head, but almost all of the 11km journey was covering new ground for us both.

Last time we saw this view, we were strapped to the zip wire and about to cross the lake a few seconds later.

I'm not sure if it's the lack of human activity around here, but the slates were covered with all sorts of saxifrage and little flowers.

The next view was the best of the day. I had no idea that the excavations were so deep or vast.

Naturally, we checked out the new route potential on the untouched cliffs. The closer you got, the more dangerous it looked though!

We had to marvel at the size of it and how we'd never 'noticed' it before!

Eventually, we reached the moorland at the top of out hill (which we'd not crossed before either!). We followed a safe passage between the cotton grass and found a stream with let us to a small lake. It was home to some tiny duckling who were splashing about between the weeds. Soon enough, we joined the road that let us back to The Cottage, where apple pancakes and fresh coffee was being served.
