Tennis Shoe, Idwal Slabs

After a chilled morning pottering around The Cottage, catching up on some admin, we were able to make use of the blue skies up on Idwal Slabs in nearby Cwm Idwal. We thought that such a sunny afternoon might have resulted in a crowded Crag, but by timing it for mid afternoon, we had the place to ourselves and the sun had come around onto the cliffs. Perfect.

We chose to go for a pleasant journey up the left hand side on the Severe grade route called Tennis Shoe.

It felt like it had been a while since we were last swinging leads on a long mountain route and it felt good.

The sun felt great, but higher up, the wind was constant and pretty cold. It's so nice to be able to pop out for an afternoon adventure like this, while still having time to go for dinner in the evening by the Straits... North Wales at its finest again.
