Indoor Climbing in Liverpool

Climbing takes you to all sorts of places and today it took me out of Wales and into the big city of Liverpool! I took a climbing club for a day out to 'The Climbing Hangar', where we enjoyed some great bouldering as well as a solid training session, where the lads all proved themselves to be considerably stronger than me! (I could barely pick up the weights that they were curling!). However, technique is where it counts in climbing, so I was still able to burn them off on the wall without to much trouble!

After The Climbing Hangar, we called into the nearby St Athol's Church, which is now home to a huge climbing centre called Awesome Walls. This is where I used to come as a student at LJMU and to be honest, not much had changed. Where the alter used to be is a massively overhanging lead wall.

The guys had a good look around - we didn't climb here, but it whet the appetite for a return trip sometime. Was a long drive for the day, but worth it when you're with a group who are so psyched.

Had to stop the bus for a rest on the drive back to Wales - these daffs were fully out!
