Act Naturally VS (4c) - Llanberis Slate

Up at the Skyline area of the Llanberis Slate Quarries, summer was in the air. It was freakishly warm, the flowers were out and the rock was hot to touch...

We took a little journey up a route that we'd done years ago called 'Act Naturally' VS (4c), which was the perfect route to do, given the conditions as all the holds are positive and big(ish). It was great to be climbing a long (45m) pitch which was totally absorbing. We both said how almost therapeutic it felt! Apart from a little loose dirty rock in the top groove, it's a good climb - and all on natural protection, which adds a little more interest.

We'd planned to do a few routes, but the weather had other ideas, it was energy sapping, so we just sunbathed and enjoyed the panorama...

Back at the van, things were really hotting up!

So, after stopping off for an ice lolly at our friend's new house, we strolled down by the river...

And took a little dip in the swimming spot...

It was even warm enough for a little refreshing float about...

And then I finished off the day down by the Menai Straits with a BBQ with some other friends! What a day! A real holiday at home! (and I even got some work done in between all that!)...
