Mountain Walking on Foel Goch (605m)

A day of brightness and blizzards! I've been out today with one of my student groups who are doing some expedition training with me. As part of a series of lessons, today we were given a tour around the Llanberis Mountain Rescue post in Nant Peris. It was interesting to see how things organised and the see process of events during a rescue. Then, after a quick stretcher carry, we headed off into the hills ourselves...

We ended up doing a respectable 12km circuit, which was pretty impressive given our late entrance onto the mountainside. We set a steady pace up 'Telegraph Valley' in the pouring rain, but were rewarded for our efforts at the Bwlch and then up on Foel Goch, where the clouds lifted enough to reveal a lot of fresh snow on Snowdon and the Glyders.

Once back at The Cottage, I unpacked my rucksack and immediately began repacking in with fresh kit, ready for and early start tomorrow and the next adventure.... Goodbye Wales - Hello Norway!...
