We only just managed to get outside today. Roads were flooded and those that weren't were being buffeted by strong winds. After much consideration, we managed to get out and get a bit of orienteering done. At least racing around looking for markers keeps you warm, even if you are soaking wet! After a bit of classroom based theory on how contours represent a change in height (demonstrated with bony knuckles), we set off around Parc Padarn near Llanberis.
It was a 'hoods up, heads down' kind of day, but one point during the day, we almost got a view of the hills!
In and around the old slate quarries, we came across these curious relics...
Had to ask for some assistance from the ducks at one point as the marker by the lake that we were looking for was underwater!
By 3pm, it was basically going dark and the lake was just starting to lap up onto the footpath that follows the shoreline. Time to call it a day...
