Today would have been classed as a grim day, by anyone's standards and at any time of year; but things really ought to be better than this on the first day of June!
Before the monsoon hurricanes arrived, you could see that there was even a fresh covering of snow or hail on the tops of the Carneddau mountains! Things were looking pretty bleak by the time I took my group of students gorge walking!
As is often the case, once you're out, it's never as bad as the thought of getting out! We had a fun day around Geirionydd, where the plants clearly aren't sure if winter is over yet as the blue bells are only just coming out!
