First snow of the winter!

A drastic change in temperatures today! And with it, the first dusting of snow across the top of the Carneddau mountains of North Wales. It's been a full on day of 'weather', with some sunshine, strong winds, periods of calm, all interspersed with some insanely heavy downpours and 'bursts' of bright sunlight.

I spent most of the day canoeing with a group, on Llyn Padarn near Llanberis. The recent rainfall has pushed the lake level up into the car parks and footpaths around the edge. The constant heavy rain and low temperatures, made it tough for us all. It was hard enough canoeing with frozen hands, let alone trying to concentrating on learning new skills! We toughed it out until mid afternoon, before bailing back to base to thaw out. My hands were so cold I could barley tie the boats back on the trailer, as I'd lost almost all dexterity! - And to think it was 20 degrees a few days ago!
