Cottage Time

It's not often that Clare and I have time at The Cottage without plans or any major fixed agenda, so it's been a novel experience to just 'hang out' and enjoy The Cottage vibe.

We both decided that a week or so of relaxation at home and socialising with local friends would be a fine way to start off the summer for a change. We've managed all of that for the last few days and not strayed too far from the grounds.

Luckily for us, we have fine open views and dense woodlands just a few steps away from the front door.

Despite a slight drop in the recent temperatures that we've become acustomed to, we still went for an evening swim in the lake. It was windy, but once in the water, it felt okay still.

Having said that, I was pretty shivery by the time we got out, but soon warmed up with a hot cup of tea at a friend's house on the way home.
