Richmond with the Rellos

After travelling by bike across northern England we’ve been more than happy to take it easy in the beautiful woodland retreat on the edge of the Dales near Richmond at our ‘international family meet’!

We’ve had a fantastic week of catching up with family young and old amidst some fine foods and good walks.

The autumn colours remain vibrant - especially on the sunnier days! We arrived in full blue skies but a few days later the mist was so thick visibility was down to about 50m!

Plenty of interesting animals around and thousands of rabbits roaming the fields.

This is our view down to Richmond from the edge of the gardens. We got a good view of the fireworks on my ‘Brain Day’ from near here.

It’s been nice to get the fire lit, feet up and get a few chess going, between playing less taxing games with Cece and Ben.

We also visited a farm…

And a highlight of the week was the ‘short walk’ to the pub one evening that turned into an exciting mini expedition that went on a little further and darker than anticipated!

Happily we were well prepared (with torches) and all made it - the pub was superb, and the beers all very much well deserved!

There’s also been a bit of van trouble…! Which is hopefully all sorted now..? Fingers crossed.

And a good explore around Richmond Abbey was another good excursion.

All in all great times with great people, with travel from the USA, Newcastle and Somerset!
