Brandon Bay Surf

It took a little bit of driving around to find the right spot today, but things came good in the end. Inch Beach was flat, so took to the north coast to see what Brandon Bay looked like. The east side was sheltered and we contemplated a swim, the west side was messy and small, so we drove away. However, just before heading inland, we spotted some waves so took a single track road down to the southern part of Brandon Bay. The bay is huge and where the tarmac ended, people seemed to just drive onto the sand. There was one other surfer and two other cars on a beach bigger than Watergate Bay in Cornwall!
The surf was harder that previous days, with the swill coning from all directions, but the rides were longer. I need to learn how to duck dive properly to get out back beyond the waves. We both got some great waves though and returned to the van buzzing as well as being ready for a sit down and a brew!

On the way back to camp, we drove over the Connor Pass to Dingle. Stopped at the top to hike the few minutes up to the lake, which was really worth it (despite the terrible photo!).
