Sneaking in the Slate Routes

After a day in the drizzle, canoeing across a very windy Llyn Padarn, it seemed to be brightening up enough to go climbing in the slate quarry. We met a friend in the evening and walked in feeling optimistic, but once we got to the base of the climb in the Australia Area, a pulse of rain swept though and we had to pack the ropes away before we'd even tied on.

A damp stroll and a natter ensued as we walked though some of the other areas, then, thanks to the stong winds, the crags began to dry out. Leo went up 'Fresh Air' and Clare and I followed suit straight after amid the odd rain drop that had been carried over on the wind.

Not wanting to push our luck, we called it a day at that as another soaking shower swept past.
