The Van Bivi Log Book

I've been doing a bit of writing and reminiscing over the past few days after 'rediscovering' our old 'Van Bivi Log Book'. This little hardback journal used to live in the back of our Escort van and an entry was made, any time that we camped (bivied) in the back of it. It's got some real gems of adventure packed in there and gave us some really good laughs as we flicked back through.  Strangely enough, during the week, and completely out of the blue, a friend who we've not seen in ages sent me this photo of us in the van during one of our summers in the Alps from ten years ago that he'd just found on an old computer! What a coincidence! It doesn't look like we've changed much in the last ten years - I'm still wearing that hat!

I'm toying with the idea of putting some of the journal entries into a kind of travel book. It's astonishing to see where that little van took us! A quick flick through shows entries from Switzerland, Cornwall, France, Croatia, Italy, Austria, Wales and Slovenia - through summers and winters!
The first entry was on a trip to ski up (and down!) a peak called the Wildstrubel in Switzerland. I dug out some old photos to match the writing. A potential first chapter?...
