Caseag Boulders

It was a bit of a damp and dark Sunday, compared to what we've come to expect around here. A nice slow start, with some strawberry pancakes made for a good beginning, without the need to rush out anywhere. A local stroll in the afternoon took us up to the hillside above the Afon Caseag on the edge of the Carneddau.

Neither of us had been up here in years, and judging by the overgrown path, neither had many people!

Pushing through the wet grass and fern, I was soon soaked up to my thighs. We pressed on anyway and got to where you cross the river to the boulder that climbers sometimes frequent.

We were happy to take a look rather than climb as the rocks were still wet and greasy.

Still, it was once to get another different angle on the local views. I think the bike ride yesterday must have taken it out of us a bit. We returned to the base and enjoyed relaxing in the garden as the weather started to improve into the evening.
