Cycle Touring - Cambridge to Huntingdon

Being able to stroll across the street to a nice cafe to get breakfast was a really fun and novel way to start the days tour. The skies were blue again and it was lovely and warm too. Fed, showered and rested, we loaded the bikes and set off into the city streets...

It was fun to be following our route by weaving through the mostly empty streets.

The bike traffic was as busy as that of cars it seemed.

Over the Cam we passed again, but this time heading out of town and along the 'BusWay' - a section of old railway that is now serviced by high speed, driverless buses to link Cambridge and Huntingdon.

It was another tough headwind kind of a day, so we were glad to discover the RSPB reserve halfway along the route for a drink and a rest. Saw some Greebs and Terns.

Our focal point of the day was back at St Ives. We'd passed though breifly at the start of the tour, but this time fancied stopping for a look around.

The weather was still nice and warm when we arrived and it was just past lunch time.

After a look through town, we settled on the riverside terrace to enjoy a cyclists 'Cream Tea' - not something we've ever really done before, but really rather nice!

Clouds were building as we crossed the bridge feeling fully fed. A short ride further and we were back at the Van having completed the three sides of our triangular tour.

We'd done a respectable 35Km on this last day, bringing our tour total to 133Km over the last three days of riding. All that remained was to travel back to Fort Martin where dinner, drinks and fine company awaited...
