An African Adventure...

Exciting times ahead! It doesn’t seem that long ago, but it’s been ten years since I last visited Africa. After a lot of planning, packing, checking and re-checking, I think we’re just about ready to go. I’m leading a group of student mountaineers up into the Atlas Mountains in Morocco. Between us, we’ve whittled our kit down to a minimum. Although it’s 30°C in Marrakesh, at the summits of the peaks the temperature is hovering around 0°C, so we’ve got clothes for all temperatures! Can’t be many travellers packing ice axes in their bags for flights to Africa!

As in most African countries, ‘cash is king’, so we’ve had to pack out a lot of cash! The bank of Martin got things divied out before we left. Overnight in Liverpool, then up and away!....
