Re-pack and re-start

Fort Martin has once again provided a little haven of quiet and tranquillity to recover from the recent travels and celebrations. The temperature has dropped by ten degrees or so, but the weather has stayed nice. Everything is in blossom.

After some nice long leisurely meals, a few gentle strolls, some catch ups with family and from visiting local friends, we've started to feel like we might be able to get our brains and bodies into gear for the next phase of our next travels and adventures. Once again, we went through the process of emptying the van, washing, sorting, repacking and by Tuesday afternoon, our wedding clothes were safely stashed and our ski kit was packed.

A quick stop off at the travel exchange and we'd ticked the last job on our pre-expedition list. Armed with a bulging wallet full of funny looking cash, and bags full of winter clothes, we set off for Manchester Airport.

In order to make a 4am check-in, for a flight to Iceland, we stayed at a Travelodge near the airport and got our heads down, with multiple alarms set for the early hours.
