Moel Faban (408m) - And the first snows of winter

There's been the first real feel of winter today as we hiked up to the summit of Moel Faban for a quick leg stretch after the last few days of travel. The winds have swung around to northerlies and the temperatures have dropped down low, but it was the wind chill that was most noticable, making it feel well below freezing.

On top of Snowdon and the Carneddau, there is the first dusting of snow and hail. We'd didn't get up that high, but were still able to enjoy the massive panorama that you get from the summit of Moel Faban. It's a relatively short hike, but the views are fantastic.

The sun was beginning to set as we made our way back down and the light and the colours were magic. My cheeks were freezing and my ears needed a hat covering them, but it felt like the cobwebs were getting blown away in a kind of refreshing way. Needless to say, my new Rab Jacket kept me snug and warm.

Back down at Coed y Parc, we'd been invited to one of our neighbours fireworks display. They really do put on a good show that would probably rival most professional operations!

A nice little finish to November 5th 2016 - a great celebration of my 18th 'Brain Day'!
