Down by the River

Today was a full-on day of sorting, cleaning, washing, relaxing, eating, snoozing and generally re-charging batteries. Hygiene levels in the van have sky rocketed after a top to bottom clean out, with freshly washed sheets, swept floors and general de-cluttering.

The climbing gear has been packed away again and with luck, the surfboard will be seeing some action again soon. I would have loved to have had an afternoon session, but energy levels suggested waiting until tomorrow for better results. Besides, it was well into the afternoon by the time we finished sorting the van.

From our riverside camp we walked a short distance along the picturesque banks to nearby cafes of Noosaville. As well as being nice not to have to drive, it was a nice little walk.

There must be an accumulative level of tiredness that manifested itself today as it was about all we could manage to make it into a bookstore coffee shop and park ourselves on some seats. We'd walked about half a kilometer and both felt bushed!

Perked up by refreshments and cookies, we made it back to camp, were we met our friends Geoff and Lou who had come up for the weekend. We all had a fab evening at the bar around the corner from camp and fed up on 'Giant Ozzy BBQ Burgers' and pizzas, which were delicious.

Everything closes early in Australia and at 9pm they were kicked out and calling closing time at the pub! On a Saturday night as well?! No problem for us though as back at camp we took a blanket and a beer down to the riverside and watched the stars, chatting and finally feeling rested.
