What a perfect day to be exploring the Lake at Llanberis (Llyn Padarn). Blue skies and virtually no wind meant that the water was like a mirror. The air was crisp and cold; there may even have been a few patches of frost about this morning - the first of the year.
Loaded up with expedition gear, we set out on a mini expedition training day.
Paddle skills first. It's so easy to teach this when the water is this calm!
Then onto shore for some knots, camp skills and a hot lunch including flame grilled cheese sandwiches! Just stunning to be out in such a rare, total calm conditions. And autumn colours everywhere.
