Partying with the little people

Been in the city partying with JT and his little buddies this weekend. Documented here in rhyming nonsense...

Happy 1st Birthday!

You probably won’t remember this,
So I’m writing down, so you won’t miss.

The fun we’ve had so far with you,
To watch you grin, and crawl and poo.

You’re one year old and growing quick,
And keen to stack a wooden brick.

Grandad’s kept you well in stock,
Handcrafting every wooden block.

Each has a number or a letter,
To help your spelling get much better.

His trolley helps to keep them neat,
But you prefer it as a seat!

Your mum and dad are working hard,
Building a house in the back yard;

A studio, a place to play,
And a space for us to come and stay.

You’ve almost worked out how to stand,
With the aid of chair or helping hand.

And you sure can crawl fast on the floor,
So Mum’s penned you in without a door.

You’re free to roam within your space,
With big wide grin upon your face.

You’re curious and like to touch,
Expensive stuff, like phones and such.

Right now, that stuff for you, is banned,
And kept some distance from your hand.

So Happy Birthday one year in,
Just keen on smiling with that grin,

You’ll soon have teeth and like your mum,

You’ll learn to talk non-stop for fun.
