Surf Snowdonia - artificial surfing

I got the chance to go and check out the 'Surf Snowdonia Wave Garden' today. It's an artificial lagoon that has been built in the Conwy valley with a surf wave that flows from one end of the pool to the other.
I only got to try out the beginner wave, which was good fun, but the main wave looked much better! It was a pretty weird experience though and not much like normal surfing really. Because the waves come at a predictable rate, you just had to sit (or stand) and wait for the wave to pick up you. No paddling required really!! This meant that it was also quite cold waiting between waves. Still, it was good to see what it's all about!

I forgot my camera, but here's what it looks like from above.
