With a combination of blue skies, light winds and no surf forecast, it seemed that a day on the sea in kayaks was in order!
With no particular agenda, we drove to the west coast of Anglesey and headed south along the rocky shoreline towards Aberfraw.
Cormerants and Osyter Catcher accompanied us as we meandered down the coastline soaking up the sights.
Having pulled up the boats, we explored our new found land and were delighted to discover a perfect lunching spot that faced out to sea and towards the mountains of the Lleyn Peninsula. It was so secluded, we felt miles from civilisation!
It also came with the perfect little swimming bay! We dived off the rocks into a really deep area of turquoise blue water. Then, as if to see what all the fuss was about, a huge seal swam into the channel!
On the return journey, we hugged the coast a bit closer and saw even more different birds. Believe it or not, it was warm enough to only be wearing a buoyancy aid while we paddled!
Then, back on dry land, after such a fantastic 'mini adventure' we thought that we'd keep the holiday vibe alive and call in to the sunny terrace at the Oyster Catcher for a little light refreshments!
