Slate Climbing - Third Time Lucky

Third time lucky! After two aborted attempts this week, we finally got to try out our new ropes in the Llanberis Slate Quarry. The threat of rain still lingered and the winds provided a decent chill, but we still managed a couple of routes in Never Never Land.

The shiny new ropes - 8.2 DMM Migrants - handled really well and although they are thinner than the DMM Prodigy (8.5mm) on first impressions, they seemed to have plenty of grip. We'll have to see how they are on big abseils, but I reckon they'll be just fine, and the saving in weight is amazing.

- Fresh Air (6a)
- Hawk Eye (4b) - (Hard start move for the short and better to second it to retrieve your quickdraws to prevent a scary/rope cutting swing).
