Before seeing the morning news, we headed out for surf and a bit of swimming to freshen up! Didn't notice any big fish, but I was probably too pre-occupied on keeping warm as I'd opted to surf in only board shorts this morning rather than a wet suit and although I was at 'Hot Water Beach' I still came out of the water semi hypothermic! But all that happened after a quality slow breakfast at camp, a stretching session an a bit of writing in the quiet morning sun.
Having tried to catch a wave, we drove north along the coast and across to the township of Coromandel, where we took a delicious lunch of their world famous mussels. They are much bigger than I'd ever seen and a beautiful green/turquoise colour rather than the blue of home.
Having taken in the sights of the Coromandel Bay and Peninsular, we made our way slowly home to the Cambridge house along the west coast, which although pretty, lacked the stunning turquoise waters and secluded coves of the East side. Another fine day...
