Moonlit Mountain Walking

Finally, calm has returned to the mountains, the skies have cleared and as the sunset, a huge moon rose into the evening sky. Walking out along the track was a real breath of fresh air.

As it got dark, the moon rose higher and it soon became clear that it was going to be a special kind of night. The kind of night where you can walk along the mountain ridges without a torch and with a strong shadow from the light of the moon.

I was pretty tired, but when Dave suggested a the idea of a little nocturnal jaunt, I couldn't turn it down. For once the full moon conditions had coincided with a clear night and no wind. It was not to be missed and I was so glad that we went for it. The visibility was excellent and from the summit we could see all the peaks in the range.

Without a proper camera, the photos were never going to be that good, but maybe these give a little impression.
