I procrastinated a little at the waters edge, but a little voice told me to just get in. I was glad I did. It was overcast, but only minutes from my sleeping bag to diving under. I left the beach feeling refreshed.
I wronged off at Wally’s, then met Jen where a full on cooked breakfast and good banter awaited.
I was back on the road mid morning and arrived at the end of the country in time for more pasties. This time in the back garden of Bob and Janet’s.
After a good feed, they took me on a tour of the local sights while we caught up in the family news.
Having completed the ‘aunties trilogy’ and got the view of St Michael’s mount, I bid Godmother goodbye and set the sat nav back to north.
After checking in briefly with Jen, it was out with the paddleboard in the last of the light. The water was fantastically clear and I saw huge shoals of fish on the journey around Black Rock.
Once we’d all had a go, (Wally and Sue jumped on too), I paddled back to shore just before it got dark.
Jen had got us a cider to celebrate the day, which we drank while jamming together late into the night.
