I took a team of visiting African students into the hills today to get some classic Welsh mountain views. After stepping out of the minibus into a windchill of about minus 7 though, we all got back into the van and drove to a lower elevation and a more sheltered objective! Plan B was required.
Although it was a reasonably dry day, the pressure was low again and the winds both strong and cold.
We made a more sheltered ascent through the woods and staggered across the summits, stopping only for a few photos and to rescue one poor lad out of a bog. From there we went direct to the cafe for a warming pot of tea!
I felt briefly rather rich when it came to pay for the drinks!...
