Northbound on Expedition

The travel day. Another expedition begins! A strange day that flowed very smoothly from Wales: briefly to Norway; across to Sweden and finally up to Lapland. After many years of travelling, we had the good fortune to experience some thing I’ve always wanted to do - have an upgraded flight! For reasons still unknown, we had priority at all the check-ins, all the security areas and every time we boarded a plane.

When we weren’t in the air, we had access to the calm and tranquility of the SAS airport lounges too!

Best airline food I’ve ever had as well! The only thing I didn’t have was the complementary champagne as I was actually ‘working’!
Amazing orange moon was low in the sky on the final flight as we crossed the arctic circle. It was -15°C on arrival in Kiruna. I was relieved to find that my planning had worked and a transfer driver was waiting for us as was the Hotel Reception. We were asleep pretty quickly!
