It's so good to have clear evenings, with enough daylight and warmth to get out and enjoy them. This evening was as much about sitting and looking as it was about the climbing as there was not a cloud to be seen from our vantage point at the top of the Llanberis Slate quarries.
The decision to climb in the slate, involved a bit of compromising - it involved the shortest walk, (we were both very tired), but the climbs would be in the shade. In the end, we knew the views would be excellent and the ambiance relaxing, so skirted in past the old workings to the Skyline Level, with sunglasses on and duvet jackets in our packs.
Arriving at the cliff top, we sat and watched a bank of clouds build over in the distance by Moel Elio. It was energizing, feeling the warmth of the sun.
Down at the base of the shady rock face, it was not so warm and I climbed as fast as I could to regain the sunlight. Brilliant route though and very absorbing...
Back on top, the sun was setting and we walked out watching the show... What a place to live...
