Van Life Deluxe - A DIY Day

The tools were back out again today and our new van is starting to look like it's ready for a summer road trip.

Between the showers I managed to make a sofa bed and install a removable worktop for cooking and brewing up on. It's quite a neat little design (even if I do say so myself) although, we'll have to see how it performs 'in the field' before I get too carried away.

Having got the van looking good, the next step was to make a final decision on where to adventure to this summer! The trouble with researching online is that rather than narrowing a search down, sometimes you end up with even more options than you started with! By mid afternoon our brains needed a break so we went to Llanberis to pick up a few bits from the climbing shop. On the way, we got some fresh air and a bit of a buzz by climbing 'Solstace' HVS (5a) at Bus Stop Quarry.

It's a really nice route, with a strenuous pull half way up and was just what we needed. And just before the rain arrived as well!

On the way home called into our friends place for tea, biscuits and some more destination chat! When it comes to climbing, there are a number of folk in these parts with more knowledge than Google and more guidebooks (self included) than the library. And certainly the best inspirations for a rock trip can often come from a personal recomedation rather than endlessly flicking through books of web pages.
We're still not 100% decided, but a plan is definatley starting to formulate...
