Climbing at Valanga

A new crag called Valanga has been developed since our last visit here. It's a short walk uphill from the main crags and we guessed that it would be less busy than down by the sea (who wants to walk ten minutes, when you can walk five!?). We guessed correctly and enjoyed a beautiful day of quiet solitude, high above the sea.

The climbs are south and west facing, so there was no need to rush from the breakfast table though!

There was a very faint path leading up to the bottom of the cliffs, that we followed though some thick undergrowth. It wasn't looking like the most popular of venues.

But once at the base, there was plenty of space to spread out, brilliant climbs on super sharp rock and a mega vista as well. We were very pleased with our choice of venue.

We stayed until dark as the sun was fantastically warm and we wanted to make the most of the views too. We lost the path on the way down and had to bushwack a bit, but it wasn't far and the sunset had been worth it.
