Storm Brendan visits Wales

Wow, it's been a grim few days here in North Wales. We've had a few days now of almost constant precipitation, ranging from light drizzle to torrential hose-pipe downpours and even a bit of sleet. That in itself isn't too unusual for this time of year, but the gale-force winds have been incredible. We scrapped all plans yesterday as it didn't seem safe to go out! The trees were all bent over and the van was rocking from side to side on the driveway. We got the fire lit and batten down the hatches. You can't really tell in the photo below, but rain is lashing down and the back door shaking....

There was a brief lull on Monday and Tuesday, where we put on wellies and walked out along the track for some fresh air.

The waterfall at Ogwen Bank was looking impressive.

And closer to home the small stream that runs through Yr Oca was transformed into a raging torrent cutting through the forest jungle.

Did brave the weather last night with Dave and went to the climbing wall for the evening, which was good.
