Indoor Bouldering

A busy morning of route setting ready for a bouldering competition this morning. Luckily there were a few of us and some pumping tunes to keep the psych high and the work rate at a phenomenal level! Sometimes, it can take a while to create a good route, but this morning we were all in the flow and working fast!

My afternoon had been scheduled to be Gorge Walking, but given the torrential rain (we had 45mm over night at The Cottage!), I decided to abort and go indoor climbing with my group instead. On the way to Llanwrst Climbing Wall, we stopped off at the Gorge, where we all agreed our decision had been a good one. It was in full flow!

In the evening, one of our neighbours had invited us to a firework display in their garden, but it was far from being a typical back yard display! It was incredible! We walked the short distance down the hill, and found most of Coed y Parc assembled around a good sized bonfire. We were then treated to an unbelievable display that lasted nearly three quarters of an hour!

The photos really don't do it justice! And the noise was almost as impressive as the fireworks, with each one echoing across the valley and back.

Walking back home, the stars were putting on an amazing display too. All the heavy rains have really cleared the air. After all the downpours, the sky was now crystal clear and the stars shone really brightly.
