Watercolour Sunset

Got up early(ish) for a morning of kayaking on the Menai Straits. We had a good couple of hours training and surfing on Swellie waves, which was running at a really smooth level. It felt good to be back in a kayak for the first time in ages. In the evening, the wind had completely dropped and layers of clouds and mist were hanging around in an eerie way. Clearly it was going to be a good evening for a SUP.

Over Snowdon a huge cloud lit up and held a small vertical rainbow. It was quite a moment.

We'd paddled out into the middle of the lake then drifted/swam back to the van in the most incredible light.

At the other end of the lake, where the river flows away to the sea, the sun was setting in even brighter colours.

Magic to be able to be out in such conditions and witness the scene..
